Art for every
surface of the
built world.

Monumental Art Projects designs, delivers and warrants permanent art for the surfaces that fall outside the design budget. Walls, sculpture, building systems and roofs, delivered with the architect of record under one contract.

Explore the four solutions Start a project
One company · four solutions

One studio for the surfaces nobody budgeted for.

Monumental Art Projects is a single contracting entity with four practices underneath it. We hold the client relationship, the design collaboration with the architect of record, and the delivery, warranty and maintenance obligations for every one of them.

An owner can start with one surface and add the next without running a new procurement. You contract once, and the capability grows without you requalifying a vendor.

Murals

Walls, streets and open land turned into portraits of the people who live there, sometimes so large they can be photographed by satellites. Painted to last, or drawn in charcoal to fade cleanly.

02Solution

Sculpture

A human gesture or a single face made monumental, so it records a collective moment rather than an individual ego. Bronze, stone and steel, engineered for South Florida.

Cool Roof Art

Certified reflective systems with the rooftop treated as a designed surface. The art lowers surface temperature and extends membrane life, so it carries an engineering case alongside the aesthetic one, backed by a 20-year warranty.

Louver systems

Shade, ventilation and screening with a large-scale image built into the fins. Head-on, a working facade. From the right angle or distance, a monumental portrait resolves across the whole surface.

Portrait of Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada
The artist

Jorge
Rodríguez-Gerada

A Cuban-American muralist, sculptor and land artist whose works are so large some are photographed by satellites. He uses walls, streets and open land as the canvas and the people who live there as the models, so each portrait carries the imprint of a community rather than only the mark of the artist.

Born in Cuba and raised in the United States, Jorge began his career in the early 1990s as a founding member of New York's Culture Jamming movement, altering billboards to return public space to the public. He moved to Barcelona in 2002, began the Identity Series there, and since 2009 has curated the AvantGuard Urbano festival in Tudela, Navarre. That instinct runs through three decades of work, from a six-acre portrait on the National Mall to bronze at Lincoln Center.

He leads the artistic direction of every Monumental Art commission, across all four solutions. Most recently, the City of Miami awarded him the Miami Incorporators Monument at Bayfront Park.

"A kind of Robin Hood of street art."

About us

It started on the roof.

Our first practice, Cool Roof Art, began with one observation about the fifth facade. Once we solved for the roof, architects and developers kept asking us to solve the other surfaces that fall outside the design budget.

So we built Monumental Art Projects: one studio, one contract and one warranty for every surface of a development. We sign as artist of record, never architect of record. The architect keeps the aesthetic; we carry delivery and warranty.

01
Design with the architect

We work inside the architect of record's intent, from concept through the drawing set.

02
Deliver under one contract

One contract, one design conversation, four possible line items.

03
Warrant and maintain

Delivery, warranty and maintenance stay with one accountable entity.
